Uses various reference materials (i.e., dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, electronic information, almanac, atlas, magazines, newspapers, and key words). d. Demonstrates basic keyboarding skills and familiarity with computer terminology Objective: Students will be able to spell most commonly used homophones correctly. Focus: Students will know and understand: 1. what homophones are 2. how homophones are alike 3. how homophones are different Assignments: 1. Create homophone flash cards using the list of commonly used homophones with their meanings on the back 2. Create 10 leaves for pear/pair homophone tree 3. Create a homophone game- (Power Point) a. Game must include rules on how to play the game b. A model must be created of the game c. Game must be modeled after Jeopardy 4. Write a rap/poem/song/cheer about homophones a. You can choose which one you write b. It must include samples of the commonly used homophones c.
